چکیده
The incidence of overweight, obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in Western society have increased to epidemic proportions the past decade are now recognized as significant progressive comorbidities contributing complications COVID-19. Adiposity reflects an imbalance energy homeostasis, where cumulative intake chronically exceeds net expenditure often associated with Insulin resistance (IR) other endocrinopathies which further impairs parameters balance expenditure. A primary function white adipose tissues (WAT) is nutritionally hormonally mediated lipogenesis lipid storage form triglycerides, derived from dietary or de novo substrates. Central adiposity, including visceral depots typically chronic inflammation endocrine dysregulation elevations plasma insulin, amylin, hyperlipidemia, a suppressed immune response, markers peripheral tissues, contributory progression cardiovascular, renal, comorbid sequela that follow. Multiple mechanisms operative contribute magnitude severity COVID-19 illness. 1: SARS-CoV-1 can infect multiple organ systems contain ACE2 receptors, WAT; 2. SARS-CoV-2 virus contains abundant viral spike proteins compatible receptors WAT, enabling efficient uptake particles; 3: WAT secretes inflammatory cytokines TNF, IL-6, others, augmented by adipocytokines leptin resistin, together facilitate creation enhanced state combined concert state; 4: leptin, TNFα, CXCL-10 adipokines common factors central been correlated obese individuals, 5: cytokine IL-6 acts mediator storm response leads development acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) dire consequences later stages NAFLD also correlates hyperlipidemia similar manner. Thus, lipogenic characteristics IR, excess inflammation, related sequelae opportunistic contributors outcome morbidity mortality observed purpose this editorial review present overview contributions its endocrinologic pathophysiologic on

COVID-19 and its Outcomes in Multiple Sclerosis Patients
Background: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly contagious disease that resulted in 4533645 deaths until September first, 2021. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients receive immunosuppressive drugs. Thus, there is a concern that these drugs will reduce the patient’s immune system resistance against COVID19. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the epidemiology of COVID19 and its ...

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) infection that was first reported on December 31, 2019 in China . This disease behaves variously: from asymptomatic infection to influenza-like symptoms and severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) . In the recent months, COVID-19 has infected millions and killed hundre...
متن کاملFactors Influencing Iranians' Risk Perception of Covid-19
Background and Aim: Today, risk perception goes beyond the individual subject and has a social, cultural and ideological significance. Since the only way to reduce risk in the community is to increase the risk perception of the majority of the population in the community, this study aimed to investigate the factors influencing Iranians' risk perception of COVID-19 disease. Methods: This cross-s...
